Proper Crucibles for the Dry Path

Turns out that an iron crucible is really not a good idea for using the dry path, because it will be corroded and attacked by the mighty power of our Alkahest salt.

And a 100% ceramic crucible is out of the question, because it would certainly fail and crack from thermal shock. The two types of crucibles we have to choose from is Clay-Graphite and Silicon Carbide.

The Silicon Carbide is about the best material you can get that isn't metallic. It has a much better resistance to thermal ...

Hello All,

I have some questions regarding GW method 3. I had a gallon of the funkiest black GW and I distilled of the spirit ( Still very funky). The distillation of this is tricky because of the initial fine foam that developes, but I overcame this by placing a filter in the neck of my distillation flask. I have dried the salts. Should the salts be calcined? or should I do like the instructions say and pour the spirit back on the black salts? Also the instructions say to use gold, but ...

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who donated money for my birthday today. It was about the worst birthday I've ever had in my short life, so it really fills my heart with joy to see that online friends cared more about my birthday than my own family and friends. One member of this forum even donated $500; that really blew me away.

Now I finally feel like I have a book, instead of just a little booklet. I think 120 pages is right about the lowest you can have to call it a real book. I thought writing it ...

Word to the wise: Don’t, Never, Ever! Ingest anything from the GW method, you will start getting growths on your face, arms, neck, then you will have to make an iridium elixir to get rid of the growths, and if you can barely come up with an elixir of the stone, it will be hard getting an elixir from iridium that does not have chemicals (they can be just as damaging).

IMO they are not ordinary growths, they could lead to cancer, so if you start getting them on you, chances are that internally ...

It's my belief that the salt of golden water that I worked with was ammonium carbonate because it didn't explode when I heated it up with a MAPP gas torch to 3,000+ degrees F. But there is a danger of ammonium nitrate salts being left in the final product, and if you heat that up, it does indeed go BOOM!

Working with tiny amounts, there is probably not much danger, but any large ...

Once more, I state that such training is a must; especially when you want to combine the Elixir's energies with your being. The Elixir fuels the mind with aetherial-astral energy but the mind must be trained to control, direct and use this extra energy. Some people do not like the light ...

Hey guys...could someone tell me how to post photos. I've never done such a thing before, Dew or photos. Would like to show my dew collection setup... pretty basic but it will work and thanks to mo1 for another great idea on the fresnel lens I should receive mine before collecting our dew. It should be able to greatly increase the effects of moon and stars on the dew! I am using an SD 1GB memory chip with an adapter to my PC.

Dear Nick, it has been mentioned that you keep the flask with the liquid Alkahest in the laboratory and you feel that it creates peace, inspiration and positive feelings in the room. Also, you have a small bottle filled with it and you wear it as a necklace. From the above descriptions, it is obvious that the Alkahest emits a spectrum of subtle-astral energies or Odylic forces. So, I believe that fellow alchemists as well as me, have the same question in their mind: Is it that the Alkahest aka ...

Here is my semi-automated method to collect dew.

1. A bowl (red) full of frozen water collects dew on its walls during the night.

2. Dew concentrates and falls into the blue bowl (2).

3. A modified aquarium pump draws the dew to the receiver (4) just before sunrise.

4. Dew receiver put inside a bath of cold water in order to keep the "spirit".

5. Timer, responsible for the activation of the pump at morning.

It gives about 20 - 30 ml per night depending on weather.

The carbon fiber gaskets can be found here http://www.atlantech1.com/ for $6.76ea for the 3". This will also allow a longer period of cooling which is better for the formation of crystals. This will also allow you to use the cheap ceramic crucibles. Replace the crucibles as needed and MAKE SURE you use a graphite base ...
